Sabbatical

[Written 5/19/08] In 2004 I earned my sabbatical at Schwab--4 weeks off plus 2 vacation. This would be the first 6 weeks off I had not worked since I started working at age 15. I wanted to take advantage of it. Denise had just bicycled through Europe on her sabbatical a few years ago, so I wanted my opportunity at a once in a life time trip.

I decided on 3 weeks in Nepal, and 2 in Belize plus a week for travel, packing and recuperation. Nepal would be solo, then I would fly back home for a day, pick up Denise and we'd both head down to Belize.

I don't remember why, but I stopped writing in my journal while I was in Chitwan. I've always meant to write the rest of my trip. It's now 4 years past though, so my memory may be a bit sketchy.
